Super System Root Canal Files from the Pen of an Endodontist - Dr. Abdullah Özceylan
The equipment and systems used in dentistry directly affect both professional satisfaction and the quality of treatment. Today, before sharing my experiences with Super System root canal files, I want to give you some information that will help you use this system more effectively.
Before You Begin: Test on Extracted Teeth
I strongly recommend testing a new endodontic system, especially on extracted teeth, before using it on patients. By combining the manufacturer's instructions with your own experience, you can discover the system's maximum potential. My first encounter with the Super System was through a colleague's recommendation, and my experience began with testing it on extracted teeth. Remember, every system has its own unique dynamics, and learning these details increases the chances of success.
Super System's Key Features and My Favorites
1. Advanced Kit: 10/07 Opener File
This file is an excellent tool, especially for calcified root canal entrances or challenging situations like MB2. Thanks to its cutting power and penetration into the root canal, it helps you achieve successful results even in teeth that others hesitate to treat.
2. Retreat One Set: The Chance for Retreatment with a Single Item
The Retreat One set, used in root canal restoration procedures, saves both time and money. Highly effective at breaking up and removing gutta-like structures, this file makes the use of gutta-removing agents virtually unnecessary. However, it would be even more useful if an optional set of four retreatment files were available.
3. Glider Apex (10/04): Reaching the Challenging Apex
In cases where I couldn't reach the apex with well-known brands' size 8-10 C-type hand files, this file helped me reach the apex a few times. However, I would like to emphasize that attention should be paid to the RPM and torque values before use.
Precautions to be Taken During Use
• Difficulty Level of the Treatment: The difficulty level of the tooth being treated affects the lifespan of the files. Preliminary testing on extracted teeth is therefore very important.
• Wear Monitoring: It can be difficult to visually detect groove deformation in Super System files. Paying attention to the number of uses and replacing the file when necessary is critical.
Final Assessment: Value for money product.
Super System files are a system that can be confidently recommended to dentists seeking a price-performance product. I advise my colleagues to try this system at least once and gain their own experience.
A little tip: When using Super System files, working with an integrated apex locator will allow for more controlled treatment and reduce post-operative pain.
Kind regards,
